I've worked in the technology sector since 1987 . For most of my IT career I have worked on a contract basis and over the years developed a number of utilities for the Oracle eBusiness suite. Recently I started marketing one of them, the eBizViewer.
I grew up in a small town in the Yukon Territory (Watson Lake). After high school I took a Survey Technology course at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and then went to work for Shell Oil in Calgary Alberta. As a surveyor I had the opportunity to travel to a number of different places including Ethiopia, Tanzania, Sultanate of Oman and the Canadian Arctic. We did alot of 'High Tech' surveying so this was my introduction to the IT sector.
After one Christmas in the middle of a desert eating crackers and cheese for dinner and sleeping in the back of my Mitsibushi Pajero I decided I needed to change careers. When I returned home I enrolled in the Computer Science program at the University of Victoria (BSc. 1988).
Lynda grew up in Victoria and has lived in here for most of her life. She has worked for the British Columbia Provincial Government for more years than she cares to admit. In what little spare time she has she volunteers for the PAC (Parent Advisory Commitee) for Glanford Middle School and Sparks and Brownies.
